FAQ

1) How does GadgetATM work?

GadgetATM wants to make your life as easy as possible.

Our system was created with complete customer convenience in mind. Through many, many hours of tireless work and tweaking, we have created the premier phone and Apple product ReCommerce websites available. Below are the simple steps you'll need to follow to receive a quote for your device:

1. Visit GadgetATM.com and be sure to check that your product is listed on our site. Unfortunately, if you come to find that your device is NOT listed on the site, then we currently do not accept it. Please do not choose a closely matching item and then send it in. We will not be able to honor the quoted price or accept your device.

2. So, if you do find your item on our website, move forward through the brief questionnaire so that we can gather a better understanding of the true condition of your device. Be sure to read the specifications for each condition category very carefully, so that you are sure to receive the most accurate quote for your device.

3. Once you complete the questionnaire, you will receive an offer for your device. If you are happy with the offer, be sure to complete the checkout process by providing us with your information, as well as how you would like to be paid. We offer payment through PayPal, by check, or in the form of an Amazon gift card.

4. GadgetATM will then send you a shipping label so that shipping is FREE and you can keep an eye on when your package reaches us. We will even provide you with a box in the appropriate situations (this includes small devices valued at more than $30.00.)

5. You are given 30 days before your offer will expire, so no need to rush. But remember, the sooner you send in your device, the faster you'll get paid!

6. As soon as your package arrives, our team will make a final evaluation of your product and then send you your payment.

Just a Reminder: If the condition is not quite what was indicated in your online questionnaire, we will quickly send you a revised offer to reflect the actual condition. At this point, you will be given 5 days to decline the offer. If you decide to decline, just let us know, and we will ship your item back to you for free. If you accept the offer or do nothing within the 5-day period, we will send you a payment reflecting the revised offer.

2) Which devices are eligible for sale on GadgetATM?

GadgetATM accepts almost all Apple products including iPhones, iPads, Macbooks, iPods and even a few select Apple TV and Apple display products. In addition to this, we also accept other smartphones that are specifically listed on our site.

If you do not see the exact model of your non-Apple smartphone listed on our website, then we will be unable to accept it. Please do not send us any smartphones that do not exactly match the models on our website.

3) How many devices can I sell on GadgetATM?

We encourage you to sell multiple Apple products and other approved smartphones on GadgetATM. However, there are a few limitations for individual sellers. Certain products will have a limitation if you try to sell more than 5 in a 30 day period. The US Phone Buyer system will alert you if you have reached the maximum amount you can sell for a particular device.

There are options for bulk sellers though. Please contact us via our support center so that we may have one of our knowledgeable bulk sales representatives provide you with the proper information and paperwork.

4) If I sent the device, but forgot the accessory, what happens?

For many of the devices we accept, we actually prefer for you to leave the accessories out. Car chargers, USB cables and phone cases will not increase or decrease the offer GadgetATM can give you. If you decide you would like to send the accessory anyway though, we will happily recycle it properly for you.

The middle ground is how the accessories for other smartphones are handled. For the most part, you will not need to send in any accessories. However, there are a few select models of smartphones that have unique chargers or other accessories. If you are trying to trade-in one of these select phones, you will be prompted by the system to include them when shipping your device. If you no longer have the accessories requested it will affect your offer price from GadgetATM.

5) Should I remove the SIM card before sending my cell phone?

While it is unnecessary for you to remove your SIM card before shipping your device to GadgetATM, we highly recommend that you do. SIM cards hold a great deal of personal data, so by removing it, you are only further protecting yourself.

Many SIM cards are relatively easy to locate and eject, typically they lie right underneath the battery, but for iPhones and iPads you might find the process a little difficult. Upon purchasing your iPhone or iPad it should have come with detailed instructions, as well as a SIM card removal tool (if you no longer have the tool, a paperclip should do the trick.) Carefully use the SIM card removal tool to eject the SIM card, and then either destroy it, or use it with a comparable device.

If you forget to remove the SIM card before sending your device to GadgetATM, we will immediately remove them and destroy them to ensure your privacy is protected.

6) How long before my offer from GadgetATM expires?

Since new electronic devices are being released every day, each with a bigger and better upgrade, we can only honor our offer for a period of 30 days. If you wait too long, but still decide to send your device in, we will evaluate it based on its current market value and condition. The offer will most likely be revised, but you will have a chance to either accept or decline the new offer.

We do recommend though that if 30 days have passed, or if you are shipping your product very close to the 30-day mark, revisit GadgetATM.com and request a new quote before going through the hassle of shipping. This way, you will know for certain that the offer given to you will be comparable to what you need.

7) What is the best way to package my device?

If you have ever ordered an electronic device and had it shipped to you, then you are well aware of the extreme measures many companies take in order to ensure the products they ship to you arrive safely. The same goes for the device you would like to send to GadgetATM.

We advise that you use ample packing material (after all, shipping is free, so no need to worry about weight. Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, and crumpled newspaper work best for securing most electronics. Before you put the final seal on your package, be sure to move the box around and see if anything is shifting inside. If it is, you need more packaging.

We know that this can be stressful, and you may be afraid that you item could be damaged in the mail. If you are unsure of how to pack your device properly, visit your local post office or other shipping facility and ask for assistance.

8) Do I need to pay for shipping? Explain the shipping methods to me.

Shipping with GadgetATM is very simple. It is FREE. Once you commit to sending in your item, you will receive a shipping label, as well as a box in many cases, that will allow you to ship your item free of charge.

The only difference you may notice is the carrier chosen for a specific device. Depending on the size and weight of the package, the carrier may change, but the cost to you will always be zero dollars. Just be sure to take your package to the proper location, so it is received by the correct carrier.

9) After shipment, what can I expect to be paid?

Since we offer multiple options for payment, this can vary. Once your item arrives at our location, you can expect it to take about a week for your payment to be sent to you. If you chose an Amazon gift card, or PayPal payment, you will receive your money much more quickly. If you opted to receive a check, this will take longer, so please be patient as it can take anywhere from 7-10 business days.

With the shipping options customers have to send their device in, the package will typically arrive at our facility within 3-5 business days. We offer a tracking system online, so if you would like to know when your package arrives at GadgetATM you can locate it by logging into your personal account.

After the device has arrived, it can take up to 3-5 business days to be inspected, and then your payment will be issued based on the initial information you provided us.

In the event USPhoneBuyers.com recalculates the offer it provided for the Product after it has been received and inspected, as described above, you shall have the option of accepting or rejecting the new offer. If you accept the new offer, you will be paid in normal course and in accordance with these service terms. If you reject the new offer, USPhoneBuyers.com will return the Product to you at the address from which it was originally sent and you shall be responsible to pay any and all shipping costs.

10) I'm not really sure what condition my phone is in. Can you help?

Although our quality questionnaire is simple, the descriptions for each quality level are very detailed and clear. Be sure to reference them thoroughly before assuming the quality of your device. Your opinion may differ from the preset values from GadgetATM. 11) Is there a way to buy the items GadgetATM purchases?

GadgetATM will often resell the higher quality gadgets we take in after a thorough evaluation and refurbishment if necessary. You can find these items for sale in our eBay store, as well as our Amazon store.

12) I would like to 'deactivate' my gadget before I send it. How do I do that?

Deactivating a phone or other device from your wireless service provider is actually very important to US Phone Buyer process. Before sending in your gadget, it is imperative that you contact the wireless service provider for your device and have them deactivate it. Some carriers will allow you to complete this step online. Be sure to check with your service provider to save time.

Many times, if a phone remains active, the issue will have to do with the ESN, or Electronic Serial number. They can remain active for a few different reasons:

· The device was reported lost or stolen

· The device still has an account associated with it that has not been paid in full

· The device is still considered “Active” by the carrier. This often happens if you sell your device, but do not cancel or transfer the service before doing so.

Before we even first inspect your phone, we will run a check to be sure the device is deactivated. If we find that the device still has an activated ESN, then we will contact you via email to correct the problem. You will have 5 days to contact your wireless carrier and resolve the issue with them. Once the device is deactivated, if you are still within the 5 day hold period, just let us know and we will inspect your device and issue payment. If the 5 day period has lapsed, then we will only be able to issue an offer for the “parts.” You are then given an additional 5 days to either accept or reject the new offer.

If you decide to reject the “parts” only offer we will send you back your device and you are welcome to resolve the deactivation issue and attempt to sell your device on GadgetATM again. Just keep in mind that with the rapid pace of technology, the next offer you receive will probably not be as high as the very first one.

13) If you receive my device, but do not feel it is representative of the quoted price, what happens?

If once your device has been inspected at our facility, we confirm that it does not accurately reflect the quality you indicated or it is not the correct product we will send you a revised offer via email with an explanation as to why. You will have 5 days to accept or reject the new offer.

If you decide you would like to accept the offer, we will issue payment shortly. If you decide to reject the offer, then we will ship your device back to you free of charge.

Please Note: If you do nothing within the 5 day grace period, the offer will automatically be accepted and payment will be issued.

14) Do you send a box and prepaid shipping label to EVERY customer?

Currently, we are only able to provide customers who utilize USPS as their shipping carrier a box and prepaid shipping label. If you choose the USPS option and your device is eligible for it, you will receive a flattened USPS box and shipping label delivered to your home. So, if you choose FedEx as your carrier instead, we are unable to provide the box at this time. We will email you a pre-paid shipping label and packing slip within 30 minutes of completing your transaction. In addition, if you would like to use USPS, but you have your own box, you can opt to have your shipping label emailed to you instead.

If you shipping label or packing slip are misplaced at any point in time during this process, you will always be able to access them again and print them out through the “My Account” area on www.USPhoneBuyers.com.

15) How long should I expect to wait for my payment?

How quickly you receive payment is completely dependent upon how fast you send us your device, and what payment option you decide upon.

As soon as we receive your item, we will inspect it within 3-5 business days. Once the inspection is completed, if the original offer still stands, payment will be authorized within 24 hours. If you opted to be paid via PayPal or Amazon gift card, you will receive an email to access your payment immediately. However, if you choose to receive a check by mail, please allow approximately 7-10 business days for it to arrive.

16) How much do the accessories matter for my gadget? Will I get more money if I include them?

Accessories typically do not increase or decrease the price you can receive for any given device. For iPhones, iPads and iPods, we ask that you NOT include any accessories, unless you wish for them to be recycled. For certain smartphones, as well as Apple computers, charging accessories are often required. If you do not have the required accessories for a certain product, it can significantly affect the overall price.

Please be sure to thoroughly read all the required accessories for your device if there are any, and be sure to include them in your shipment.

17) I think you offer a great service, but I am not from the United States. Do you buy or sell anywhere else in the world?

For the moment, GadgetATM can only accommodate customers in the United States. We hope to eventually expand our services into other parts of the world. Be sure to keep up with GadgetATM to see what is in store for us next!

18) I changed my mind. How can I cancel my proposed sale with GadgetATM?

Canceling a proposed sale with GadgetATM is simple. All you need to do is visit “My Account” on the GadgetATM website. Once you have logged in, complete the following steps:

1) Find the item you would like to cancel.

2) Click “Cancel this Item.”

And the process is complete! On the same page, you will also have the option to cancel shipment of the packing kit by selecting “Cancel this Box.”

19) What are the different payment options for my device?

You can choose from an Amazon gift card, PayPal instant transfer, or a physical check sent via mail to your home.

20) I chose one payment option, but I would like to change it. Can I do that?

Once the inspection is complete, unfortunately you cannot change your payment type. However, all the way up to that point, you are more than welcome to. Just visit the “My Account” page and log in. If the inspection has not been completed, you will be given the option to change your payment type.

If you are having difficulty, or would just like to discuss your options with someone knowledgeable then feel free to reach out to one of our customer service representatives via our <link>Live Chat</link> system. We are happy to help you make any changes you need to.

21) My gadget is engraved. Will GadgetATM still purchase it?

Yes, we absolutely will. Engraved devices are still just as valuable and GadgetATM will simply remove any profanity or other offensive material engraved on a device before reselling it.

22) If a gadget I own is not listed on your site, can I still send it to GadgetATM to recycle?

While GadgetATM is always looking to prevent electronic devices from being disposed of improperly, we do not specifically provide a recycling service for unwanted cell phones. Now, if you send us your old phone, we will, of course, recycle it.

However, we do recommend looking for local ways to recycle your phone. Goodwill, for example, accepts both cell phone and computer donations. If they are unable to give them items to a needy family or sell them in one of their stores, they will thoughtfully recycle them.

In addition to this, there are many online resources for recycling your phone. Be sure to do a thorough search and explore your options before ever considering just throwing your device out into the everyday trash.

23) Does it matter if my smartphone is locked or unlocked?

Yes. At this current time, there are 4 carriers that we are able to accept if the phone is locked to only utilize their service. These carriers are:

· T-Mobile

· AT&T

· Verizon

· Sprint

Also, GadgetATM will also accept select models of factory unlocked cell phones. Unfortunately, if your phone is locked with a carrier not listed above, we are unable to accept it at this time.

24) GadgetATM sent my device back to me. Why did this happen?

If GadgetATM sends your device back to you, there are only a few reasons why this may have occurred:

1) The device you sent in still has an active ESN and we were unable to clear it. This could be an error, but you will need to contact your carrier to find out why they would not allow deactivation.

2) The device you sent in still has an active ESN and we attempted to contact you to solve the problem, but we did not receive a response.

3) The device was sent back to you because you canceled your offer and asked for it to be returned.

If your device was returned, but you do not feel any of these reasons apply to your situation, please reach out to a GadgetATM customer service representative immediately to help resolve your issue.

25) How can I set up an account with GadgetATM?

Setting up an account with GadgetATM is simple and secure. When creating a new transaction, you will be prompted to enter pertinent personal information to create an account for you for all future transactions.

So, after completing just one transaction with GadgetATM you will have a personal account you can use to sell electronics whenever you need it. We hope you’ll come back and use our services often!

26) I have a lot of devices I would like to sell. Does GadgetATM accept bulk sales?

GadgetATM does accept bulk sales; however, it is a little more involved, so you will need to speak to a bulk sales representative. Please reach out to our team via <link>Live Chat</link> to request the necessary forms and have all your questions answered.

27) Is there a membership or usage fee for GadgetATM?

Simply put: Absolutely Not! Feel free to enjoy all of our services free of charge. Part of our goal is to help you make money.

28) I have multiple items to send to GadgetATM. Can I just send them all together in one box?

Yes, you may ship multiple items in one box, although it can be more of a hassle than a timesaver.

When shipping multiple items, it is more difficult to pack them properly to prevent any damage. Therefore, it is more likely that one or more of the items you ship could arrive damaged at our facility. This could greatly affect your initial offer.

In addition, you will need to attach each packing slip to the appropriate item and hope everything stays in order during the shipping process. If items arrive without packing slips attached, it will take much longer to process the transaction in our system; therefore, it will most likely delay your payment.

So, while you are more than welcome to send a few different items in one box, we do want you to consider the issues and delays it might cause.

29) If my device is still under warranty or comes with an extra extended warranty will I receive a better offer?

In order to transfer a warranty to a new owner of a device, your personal information would need to be given to them. Since this is not something we can legally do – nor do we think you would want us to do so – we cannot accept or transfer warranties from one owner to another. Therefore, a warranty will not increase your offer.
